Amarone is special. Once you’ve tasted quality Amarone you’ll never forget the richness, complexity, and character that it delivers. This extravagant red is built with one simple goal in mind, pleasure. And let me tell you, it is a complete success. The nose is awash in sultry scents of dried rose petals, sweet tobacco, cedar, anise, incense, and allspice. The palate is no less complex with fantastic density and a wealth of appealing flavors like brandy soaked cherries, raspberry preserves, candied orange zest, and freshly grated ginger. Ripe tannins and mild acidity provide a fine frame for all of that wonderful fruit and spice. Decant this hedonistic red before dinner and then pair it with beef, lamb, duck, or game. Or toss it into the cellar and delight in it’s evolution over the next 5 to 7 years. Be warned though, this one is in very short supply and is highly likely to run out well before Christmas.
