This is a question that can and has sparked much debate – depending on who you ask – and it doesn’t really have a simple answer.
“What’s the difference? Taste and longevity, for openers,” says Keith Miller, co-owner of Mile High Wine and Spirits. “New World wines are meant to be enjoyed now because they often lack a lot of structure. On the other hand, Old World wines are meant to be cellared and enjoyed with food because they generally have more structure.”
