| | Hi folks, Clyde here with my picks of the week!
Clyde's Friends Competition - Enter by 9/1 to Win
It has been a rough couple of weeks with this hot weather so I need your help in coming up with some new material. Please...this is a call to all my dog, cat, fish, and other fur ball friends submit to me your best material. I need your review of whatever wine, beer, liquor, or other crazy concoction that you have been drinking. Email the review along with a picture of yourself to my boss Chris at chris@milehighwineandspirits.com. The winner for the best review and picture will receive a nice gift certificate to Mile High and to Whole Foods. Thanks to Tatiana for bringing it this week and I look forward to reviewing your submissions.

Tenuta Ponte Greco di Tufo
On Sale Now $15.99 (Reg. $19.99)
The dog days of summer. Whoever came up with that expression was a real jerk. What is that even supposed to mean? Personally I can’t stand the summer, it’s hot and all I want to do is lie down and sleep. I don’t even get to come into the store as much as I’d like. Dog days my eye. Still one thing that gets me through August every year is Tenuta Ponte’s Greco di Tufo. Greco di Tufo is the grape and it is grown in the Campania region of Italy. In fact it is the oldest grape grown there. A confirmation of just how long the grape has been used to make wine comes from a discovery of a fresco at Pompeii, traced in the 1st century BC. A brief poetical inscription was added to the fresco, apparently by a frustrated lover: "You are truly cold, Bytis, made of ice, if last night not even Greco wine could warm you up." But forget warming you up this straw yellow wine will provide the perfect liquid for these still warm nights. It has terrific minerality and goes great with fish.
Special Guest Reviewer Tatiana
Navan Vanilla LiqueurOn Sale Now $31.99 (Reg. $39.99)
Hello. Allow me to introduce myself, my name is Tatiana and I will be the guest reviewer this week. I got a call from that dog who works there asking if I’d be so kind and do a little write up. I’ve read his stuff and frankly didn’t know if my elegant style would mesh with his. But he begged and begged like dogs are known to do. After a few hours I told him to lighten up and regain his dignity and that I’d be happy to help out. As long as I could write up what I wanted and it didn’t interfere with one of my fourteen daily naps. So today I present to you Navan from the house of Grand Marnier. This vanilla liqueur is perfect on its own and mixes well with other liquids. I know the dog enjoys it with margarita mix. Myself I have a more refined palate and prefer to add Godiva white chocolate liqueur. It tastes like a White Russian, if that White Russian was made from the hand of God herself. One final note: Navan is made with vanilla from Madagascar which produces the finest vanilla in the world.
