BELGIUM

Cantillon Classic Gueuze

In the 18th century, a Benedictine monk, dom Pérignon, discovers the champaign method by blending different non sparkling white wines. One century later, a Brabant brewer blends different lambics and brings about a spontaneous fermentation in the bottle. The Gueuze is born. This beer is not only unique because of its brewing process, but also because it can be conserved for a long time. When kept in a good cellar, a Cantillon Gueuze will still have an exceptional taste and flavour after 20 years.

Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor

You know American brewers must be doing something right when traditional Belgian breweries start immitating our styles. Hopsinjoor is one of the growing number of Belgian IPAs now being sold here in the states and we will continue to add them to our selection here at Mile High. This offering is brewed using four European hop varieties and the result is a spicy, floral hop flavor as opposed to the citrus flavor commonly found in American IPAs.

Gouden Carolus Cuvee Van De Kaiser Rood

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the "Cuvée van de Keizer Blauw", the brewery launched a blond-version: Cuvée van de Keizer Rood. It contains several types of malt and during brewing 3 herbs are added. It's golden blonde in color with a full and balanced taste. Perfect for those looking for a richer, somewhat spicy and refreshing beer.

St. Feuillien Brune Abbey Ale

A rich, dark brown ale, brewed in the Dubbel style and bottle conditioned for maximum flavor and shelf life. Deep russet in color with a light tan foam. The aroma is fruit and sweet, with hints of dried fruit and nuts. On the palate, St. Feuillien Brune is slightly sweet and malty, finishing surprisingly firm and dry.

Urthel - Bock

Dark russet in color with a faintly tan rocky foam. Spicy and slightly hoppy in the nose, with familiar herbal overtones present to some degree in all Urthel beers. The flavor is surprisingly dry and hoppy, with beautiful cocoa and nutty flavors. Enjoy this beer with sauerkraut and sausages for a pan-European festival.

Saison Imperiale - Belgian Farmhouse Ale

Created in 2006. While the style is generally known for its light body and subtle spice, Saison Imperiale is a bolder, "mega" interpretation of the style. Light amber in color, funky wild yeast notes and spice to the nose, with a bit more malt character, body, and hop notes as appropriate to the "Imperiale" style. May 2006 selection - Michael Jackson's Rare Beer Club. 89 points -World Beer Championships.

Zoetzuur Flemish Ale

From the Flemish translation for "sweet-sour." This is a unique amber colored ale of multi yeast strain fermentation, with a hint of Belgian Kriek (cherry) juice added. The brewer has combined these elements in a subtle and complex blend where sour notes are balanced by tart fruit, hints of wood, and a velvety finish. August 2004 selection - Michael Jackson's Rare Beer Club. 93 points - World Beer Championships.

Moinette Brune

Moinette brune is a top fermentation beer with refermentation in the bottle. Since its creation in 1986 this beer becomes more and more famous. A melange of 4 special malts results into this unusual colour, light darkbrown going into russet. The aromas of hop and special malts are creating the dominating taste in this beer.

Blanche Des Moines

A delicious, authentic Belgian Blanche. Light-bodied, effervescent with well balanced notes of citrus and coriander subtly sweetened by a fine malt character.

Oud Beersel Framboise

Created by adding whole fresh raspberries to young lambic, which provides both seasoning and sparks another fermentation resulting in a product of great complexity. It has the acidity of champagne, the bouquet and delicate flavor of raspberries, and balance of almondy dryness.

Moinette Blonde - Tripel

Rate Beer gave this tasty Belgian blonde ale 95 points, I myself give it 100 points. Pours like gold, slightly effervescent, and nice and yeasty. If you haven’t tried a Belgian Farmhouse ale, then start with this one, your whole perspective will be changed.

Urthel Hop It - Belgian Strong Ale

Superior Hoppy Belgian Ale. White very rich foam, small bubbles. Very hoppy, spicy, fruity flavour and full, heart warming body. Brewed at first at Van Steenberge, now brewed at Koningshoeven - La Trappe brewery.

Kwak - Belgian Strong Ale

Full-bodied Belgian Specialty Ale. Amber in color with beautiful foam and slightly sweet, seductive malt character. Rich, satisfying Belgian experience.

St. Bernardus Wit Bier - Belgian White (Witbier)

This traditional witbier has been developed under supervision of the father of Hoegaarden and Celis White, master brewer Pierre Celis. This beer has been bottle-refermented, which lent it its specific taste.

La Binchoise - Belgian Strong Ale

Speciale Noel could only be a Christmas beer. It is a classic, warming winter ale with plenty of depth and a roasted, fruity malt character.
A.K.A. Reserve Speciale

Saison Dupont - Saison Ale

Saison Dupont is a classic Belgian farmhouse ale. This is a beautifully balanced, complex beer that has a refreshing fruitiness and long, dry finish. It is bottled unfiltered so it may be cloudy or have a slight sediment but this is normal and perfectly natural.

Malheur 12 Belgium Dark Ale 750ml

Malheur 12° is a dark brown ale with beautiful and rocky "café latte" light brown foam. The flavour is malty and cereal and might invoke thoughts of fresh cut bread. The taste of Malheur 12° is full, round, with a touch of sweet alcohols, but the ale is still dry and bitter coffee, with touches of nuts, honey and rum from the brown candy sugar. The aftertaste is bitter-sweet, long and warm.

Malheur 10 Belgian Stong Golden Ale

Very nice Belgian strong ale. Floral aroma that is really nice. Sweet spices, yeast and light fruit. Light fruit and heavy spices with grass and a yeasty aftertaste. Hides alcohol perfectly. Smoooooooth.........

Gouden Carolus Easter Beer

Less than 2,000 cases are made of this awesome golden ale.  It used to be a seasonal dark, but now it is a golden and it pours with a large fizzy white head. There is some crisp citrus on the nose and the flavor shows some spice.  There is definitely some alcohol showing in this one when it warms up, but get some while it is here...limited!!!

Corsendonk Abbey Pale Ale

A deceptively potent ale in the golden, “Triple” strength of Belgium’s Trappist monks. It has a very big head indeed - pour it gently - and a very clean palate, beginning with a dry, lightly citric fruitiness, and finishing with a distinctive and delicate, perfumy, hop character. Very light and fluffy in texture, giving little hint of its strength.

Corsendonk Abbey Pale Ale

A strong, Burgundy-colored ale in the style of the classic Trappist brews of Belgium. Has a very distinctive bouquet: yeasty, fruity and slightly smoky. In palate, it has notes of port, raisins and black chocolate. Matures greatly with age, becoming softer, smoother and deeper in palate.

Gouden Carolus Ambrio

Het Anker Brewery is the only one still brewing this type of beer. The recipe has its origin in the 14th century. The present version is a little more heavy and contains more hops. The balance between the different malts, the fine hops and typical tastes of spices creates a perfect harmony between the powerful taste of brown beers and the freshness of the blond beers.

Delirium Nocturnum

The elephants are back with this darker, sweeter version of tremens. Everything this brewery puts out is remarkable. This is an elegant Belgian strong dark ale, with a sweet spiciness. Toffee and caramel flavors mixed with banana bread. A taste treat.
