We’re not going to guarantee you’ll get lucky after sharing a bottle of the 2016 Napa Cellars Pinot with your Valentine’s Day sweetie but it certainly couldn’t hurt. ;) The nose of this sleek Napa Valley Pinot Noir is delicately perfumed with seductive hints of roses, cedar, wood smoke, and herbs de Provence. What’s more, it offers up that lovely nose right after you pull the cork, no extended decanting required. On the palate, this juicy Red is soft and approachable with the kind of generosity that only Pinot seems to be able to deliver. Elegant notes of creme de cassis, crushed cherries, and a bit of blueberry pie filling are encircled by modest acidity and gentle tannins. Sip it and you’ll see, this is a great little drinker! The finish is plump and smooth with a style that is equally well suited to cocktails and pairing with lighter dishes. Come on by the shop on your way home this evening and taste this delicious Napa Valley Pinot Noir for free. We think you’ll agree, it’s a heck of a good bottle!
Food Pairing:
A nice smooth Pinot Noir like the 2016 Napa Cellars is a great pairing for a whole host of lighter meals. Salmon is a classic choice and, in my experience, seared tuna can work very nicely as well. Some steamed haricot verts tossed with butter and herbs de Provence as well as a handful of roasted new potatoes would make a fine plate. Alternatively, you’d be smiling if you paired this yummy Pinot up with a classic baked brie topped with a drizzle of warm cherry preserves, toasted walnuts, and an assortment of fresh berries.
