The days are getting shorter but the heat hasn’t let up yet. So, let’s drink some Rose! This week we decided to drop the price on one of our favorite Roses of the season, the 100% Syrah from Alignan, CM. This lush and inviting Pink is such a great drinker! The nose begins with delicate hints of fresh honeydew melon, lemon thyme, and a bit of whipped cream. On the palate you’ll find that the CM Rose is generous and ripe with an excellent mix of Red and White wine flavors that range from crushed strawberries, passion fruit, blood orange, and a bit of guava. The finish is lush and round but it’s still nice and dry. There’s no sweetness lingering on the back of the palate here. This is a silly good bottle of wine and, this weekend at least, you can get it for less than the cost of a six pack of decent beer. So, let’s raise our glasses and toast the summertime! Maybe from the comfort of a poolside chaise lounge, or under a shady tree in a high mountain campground, or even from the comfort of your favorite recliner right there in your air conditioned living room. But wherever you’re planning to drink it, you’ve gotta come get some first. Please stop by the tasting bar this evening to taste the Alignan CM Rose for free. We think it’s a great “case buy”!
Food Pairing:
We’ve been drinking a fair amount of Rose at the house this summer. The garden fresh veggies are really going off right now and the weather just feels perfect for firing up the grill and dining al fresco out on the deck. So, I suggest you set up a big spread with all of the freshest veggies you can get your hands on, season them simply with salt and pepper, and then grill ‘em off until they’re ever-so-slightly underdone. Arrange them all on a big platter, finish them simply with a squeeze of fresh lemon and some good olive oil, then invite everyone to pick and choose their favorites to make a plate. The CM Rose will be perfect in that context with its lush and friendly style. Or you could just cocktail it up. I can tell you from experience that it’s mighty good all by itself too. Cheers!
