Folie à Deux Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel 2013

This week’s “Wine of the Week” special isn’t fancy, expensive, or worthy of 20 years in the cellar. But it is mighty darn delicious to drink. This Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel from Folie a Deux is a hedonistic little bomb of a wine and when you pull the cork that sucker is gonna go off. On a rainy and snowy late winter day the sultry scents of toasty oak and warm berry jam are so welcoming that you just want to dive right into your glass as though you were wrapping up in a soft blanket. The palate of this delicious Zin is similarly warm and welcoming with a velvety entry and abundant flavors of crushed blackberries, sun baked plums, and raspberry preserves. The finish is a mix of darker notes like baking spices, vanilla, and leather and lifted hints of rose petals and underbrush. It is lovely, casual, and inviting. Drink it in good health, friends!
Food Pairing:
Cook up a big old batch of red chili this weekend and then pair this yummy Dry Creek Zin up with it. I think you’ll find that the richly textured palate, luscious fruit, and slightly spicy finish makes it ideally suited to pairing with something like a nice meaty red chili or a creamy bowl of black bean soup and a big hunk of cornbread.
You MUST mention this special or print it out to receive the price on the above wine.
This price expires at 6pm and is limited to in-store quantities.
No rain checks given. Call (303) 936-0272 to reserve bottles with a credit card.
