The warm weather has set in and there’s no turning back. So let’s drink some fun, fresh French table wines and keep things extra casual this weekend while we try to beat the heat. The Tire Bouchon label was created to showcase some high quality fruit that one of our favorite importers found while he was scouting for values in the South of France. The White is pure Sauvignon Blanc with a ripe, melon laden style that delivers much more class and complexity than your average New Zealand or California offering. Hints of lemon verbena and freshly cut honeydew melon combine with zesty acidity and modest alcohol to create a dry White that satisfies without ever taking over. The Red is a lively blend of Pinot Noir and Syrah. The Pinot adds zesty pomegranate and wild strawberry notes to the Syrah’s black plum and blueberry jam. And here’s something fun, we recommend that you put a light chill on the red in order to highlight it’s lifted freshness and to help beat back the stifling summer heat. Please come have a taste of these yummy French tables wines tonight at the tasting bar. We believe that they are an outstanding value!
Food Pairing:
These 2 bistro style table wines are perfect for all of your casual summertime sipping. The prices are so low that you could afford to cook with them but the quality is so high that they drink well beyond their modest prices. Serve the white alongside fresh salads, goat cheese, or fresh fruit salad. And serve the red, again lightly chilled, with barbeque chicken, couscous salad, or a platter of cured meats and cheeses. They are sure to perform well under any circumstances.
